Michael Pratt
Director of Research, International Boundaries Research Unit, Durham University, UK. Martin Pratt studied Geography at Durham University and International Relations at the University of Chicago before joining the International Boundaries Research Unit in 1994. He has been the Unit’s Director of Research since 2001. He has written extensively on land and maritime boundary issues around the world and has advised governments, commercial organisations and NGOs on a wide range of boundary and sovereignty disputes. Recent publications include: ‘A Terminal Crisis? Examining the Breakdown of the Eritrea-Ethiopia Boundary Dispute Resolution Process’ (Conflict Management and Peace Science, 2006) and ‘How to Deal with Maritime Boundary Uncertainty in Oil and Gas Exploration and Production Areas’ (with Derek Smith, Association of International Petroleum Negotiators research papers series, 2007).
