Cas Mudde is Nancy Schaenen Visiting Scholar aan het Janet Prindle Institute for Ethics alsmede Visiting Associate Professor in het Department of Political Science van DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana (Verenigde Staten). Zijn onderzoeksinteresse gaat uit naar populisme. Met Populist Radical Right Parties in Europe (Cambridge University Press, 2007), won hij de Stein Rokkan Prijs (2008).
